Suffolk County Police Officer James Garside Saves Third Life In Two Weeks
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- He's a public servant with a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Suffolk County Police Officer James Garside, who is also an emergency medical technician, has helped save three people in just the past two weeks.
The latest rescue came Tuesday, when he helped revive a 46-year-old Huntington woman who had a heart attack and stopped breathing.
"She was not breathing and I provided advanced airway through endotracheal intubation where the tube delivers oxygen to her lungs for the best benefit," Garside told CBS 2.
Last week, the 19-year veteran helped revive a county parks employee who had also suffered a heart attack.
Two weeks ago, Garside helped revive a young man who had reportedly overdosed in his car.
