Suffolk County Man Charged With DWI In Fatal Accident
LAKE RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A Long Island man has been charged after fatally striking a man early Sunday morning, Suffolk County Police announced.
Thomas Vaughan, 59, of Lake Grove has been charged with driving while intoxicated after he hit and killed a pedestrian in Lake Ronkonkoma around 2:30 a.m., police said.
The pedestrian was in the roadway when he was hit, police said.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vaughan is due to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.
