NEW YORK (AP)-- Officers from the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau have rescued two men from a sinking boat in the Long Island Sound.
The officers heard a distress call at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday and located the boat, a 16-foot Bayliner.
The boat was half-submerged and was about one and a half miles off shore near Port Jefferson.
The officers brought the two men on board their vessel and towed the sinking boat to shore.
