Subway Service Nightmare Continues Sunday
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Get ready for more train troubles on the subway. For the second day in row, riders were to be met with delays, detours and disruptions.
Construction work caused service changes on 18 of the 19 subway lines that normally run on weekends.
As an alternative, the MTA was providing shuttle service to pick up the slack.
Straphangers CBS 2HD spoke with, however, seemed to be taking the changes in stride. "It is an inconvenience, but they have to do track work because our station needs more maintenance. All the stations above 158th Street need a lot more maintenance," said rider Megan Heeley.
The MTA said service will be back to normal on most of the lines starting at 5 a.m. Monday.
