L.I. Substitute Teacher, 23, Accused Of Having Sex With Student, 15
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Nassau County police say that a 23-year-old substitute teacher carried on a sexual relationship with one of her female students for several months.
Police say Kaitlin Grant of Elmont worked as a substitute science and math teacher in the Freeport School District. Cops say they were notified after the victim's family learned of the relationship from social media postings.
The relationship allegedly took place from November 2011 to March 2012. Now, Grant is charged with criminal sexual acts and endangering the welfare of a child. She was released on $10,000 bail late Friday afternoon.

"Ms. Grant had no prior criminal record and passed all background checks in compliance with New York State law. Ms. Grant will no longer work in the District," Kuncham said. "The District is disturbed by these allegations."
1010 WINS' Mona Rivera reported Grant is the daughter of Maurice Grant, an assistant principal at the Freeport High School, where she worked as a substitute teacher.
"They met while in school they and started interacting while in school," Nassau County Police Sgt. Carlo Maltempi told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.
Maltempi said the relationship was discovered after a posting on a social media site.
"At this time there are no other victims. We're are asking parents that if they believe their child may have been victimized, please call Crime Stoppers," he said.
"I'm glad that it's not my child, but I do feel for the family that's going through, because no one would want that to happen to their child," said parent Erica Thompson.
