Stun Gun Used By Police In Black Friday Scuffle In Connecticut
MILFORD, CT (AP) - A police officer in Milford, Conn., used a stun gun on a Walmart shopper who allegedly punched another customer.
Police say 26-year-old Brian Shellnutt hit another shopper as they waited in line to buy video games late Thursday night. He allegedly ignored an officer's warning to stop fighting before the officer used the electronic device on him.
Shellnutt was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor.
Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was knocked to the ground by the crowd, and Shellnutt confronted the boy's father as he helped him to his feet. Police say Shellnutt punched another man who came to the aid of the father and son.
A woman who answered the phone at Shellnut's residence said he wasn't available to comment.
