Study: Stressed Women Have Higher Heart Attack Risk

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- Stress on the job is taking a serious toll on women's health.

According to a major new study, women with high stress jobs have an 88-percent higher risk of heart attack than women with less demanding work.

Harvard researchers in Boston said the high-stress group had a 40-percent greater risk for overall heart problems, including strokes and clogged arteries.

The study also found that women who worried about losing their jobs had higher blood pressure, weight and cholesterol levels.
