Students Hope Pope Will Visit St. Francis College In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Some Brooklyn college students have begun a campaign in hopes of a visit to the borough from Pope Francis.
As WCBS 880's Rich Lamb reported Saturday, students at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights sat at a couple of tables this week, writing letters to invite the pope to visit the school.

They noted that Brooklyn was once known as the borough of churches.
"I love him; I think he's great," said student Joseph Fataruso, 19. "You know, if I was even in the same area as him I'd be honored, and the fact that his name is Francis, and this is St. Francis College, it's just a perfect thing."
"I said that I hope he comes down to Brooklyn since he's most likely going to come to New York anyway, and if he was to visit anywhere, it should be St. Francis College," added freshman Nicholas Santana, 18.
All the students writing were very optimistic that the pope would eventually visit.
