Students, Friends Remember Shot Pace Student
NEW YORK (CBS 2) – A memorial for the Pace University student who was shot and killed by police was held on Friday on what would have been his 21st birthday.
The University remember Danroy Henry at the school's first home game since his death.
Two weeks ago, he was shot outside a Westchester County bar during a dispute with officers. An investigation of the incident is underway.
An estimated 2,000 people packed a Boston convention center to remember him.
"If you knew him, you probably loved him. He was that type of guy," teammate Gage Morris said.
Pace University sent Henry's teammates to the memorial service by bus.
"We're going to celebrate his life because he was always a smiling kind of guy. He wouldn't want all of us to cry all the time," teammate Lamar Francis said.
The Westchester County District Attorney is conducting the investigation.
