Strong Winds To Follow Steady Tri-State Rain
NEW YORK (CBS New York) -- Steady rain continued to fall across the area, but AccuWeather said the precipitation would become intermittent overnight.

Forecasters said the area will experience the wet and windy weather through Friday evening as part of a Nor'Easter along the Mid-Atlantic coast.
A wind advisory will be in effect from 6 a.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.

As the rain drops were falling on Freeport, Long Island, Ilona Jagnow locked up Otto's Sea Grill early.
"We closed early because the weather has been lousy and business has been dead because of it," Jagnow told CBS 2's Hazel Sanchez.
As the Nor'easter tiptoed into the Tri-State, Jagnow brought in Halloween decorations that could get blown away. And all dry goods were pulled off the ground in the restaurant's flood prone kitchen.
"You've got take the good with the bad...what are you going to do," Jagnow said.
While AccuWeather meteorologist Dave Bowers said this storm would not be as bad as the last storm that brought hail to the area, the National Weather Service said strong winds and about an inch of rain should be expected.
Bowers also said the bulk of the rain will be over by the middle of Thursday night, but the wind will cause problems on the "back side of the storm."
Fred Ranzoni, of Park Slope, Brooklyn, is all too familiar with storm damage. Within a month, his neighborhood on 10th Avenue had been plowed through by a tornado that downed trees everywhere and just Monday, the area was pounded with hail.
Ranzoni, like many residents in the storms path, hoped they would be spared this time around.
"Let's face it, New York is not beset by mother nature that much," Ranzoni said.
In New Jersey, windshield wipers were in fast motion, but tires were on a slow roll in Secaucus.
"I do slow down. You never know what other drivers are going to do or if they're going to slam on their breaks," Jessica Davis of Hoboken told CBS 2's Dave Carlin.
Some dangerous conditions were present from major roadways to the business district in Hoboken to the suburbs of Bergen County.
Many residents rushed home to make sure their properties were ready for another round of heavy downpours and gusty winds.
"You just deal with it. It's weather, what are you going to do," Jack O'Connor of Tenafly said.
Strong winds and clouds will stick around through Saturday -- with the strongest expected Friday night.
Forecasters say west to northwest winds will increase to 20 to 25 mph with gusts to around 45 mph.
