WCBS 880's Sean Adams reports
There's a little hint that, yes, things are getting better from Main Street in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
"There's a lot of work for the niche that we're in, which is skilled I.T.," David Marceau told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams.

He left his job in information technology and started Ridgefield One to help others find work.

Marceau said, "When there's a downturn, a lot of times, the first people that get cut are I.T. people because they're expendable and they can keep limping along on a skeleton crew, but then what happens is projects pile up."
He says the pendulum is swinging back. Firms are hiring again, but if you're older and you've been unemployed for a while, sharpen your skills.

"They really need to increase their skill set if they're having trouble finding work. Maybe take a course in web development or application development. Get some current hands-on skills," says Marceau.
