Stephen Colbert Takes Video Of Dirt Biker Popping A Wheelie In Lincoln Tunnel
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Getting into New York City during rush hour can test the limits of your patience.
But sometimes you see something that just makes your day better, you capture it on video, and you share it with the world.
That's what happened to Stephen Colbert, who hosts "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central, while driving to work this week.
"For those of you haven't had the pleasure of commuting through the Lincoln Tunnel, let me paint a picture for you," Colbert said on Thursday night's show. "Imagine taking 250,000 jelly beans and pouring them through a single drinking straw where all the jelly beans are p***ed because they're late for work."
While in the Lincoln Tunnel, a man on a dirt bike passed him on the left while popping a wheelie. The man then changed lanes (which is illegal) and looked back at Colbert, who was recording all of this on his iPhone, and gave Colbert a thumbs up and a sort of 'Oh Yeah' kind of look.
After that, the cyclist proceeded to pop another wheelie.

"Clearly, America is back, ladies and gentleman," said Colbert on his show.
Then the man pulled back to come alongside Colbert and asked him to send the video. Colbert, however, could not oblige because he forgot to write down the man's area code.
"I didn't write it down because I was driving and videotaping and writing would have made it dangerous. So I hope that broadcasting it will be acceptable instead," said Colbert on the air. "And by the way, my name is Stephen Colbert and I have a television show."
We, of course, do not promote popping wheelies in the Lincoln Tunnel or operating a phone while driving. Please stay safe out there!
