Staten Island Charity Group Gives Away Free Toys To Sandy Victims
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- For victims of Superstorm Sandy who have continued to struggle in the 14 months since, there is a place they can get toys for their kids for a price that's right.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported Tuesday, the store was set to be open until 7 p.m. Christmas Eve at 1547 Arthur Kill Rd. on Staten Island.
Many families who were affected by Sandy still feel like they have been forgotten. For that reason, the group Where to Turn has opened the toy store where everything is free.

"It gives them a good feeling, that at least some people think they are not forgotten, and still working out on their behalf," said executive director Dennis McKeon.
There is something for almost everyone.
"We have toys for pretty much all ages, from newborn up to early teens," McKeon said.
The toy store has recently received a delivery of 700 Hess trucks. Families need to bring their Federal Emergency Management Agency identification numbers to use the store.
The group said earlier this month that its goal was to give out 15,000 toys to Sandy victims.
