State Displays Machete At Triple Slay Trial
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Testimony has resumed in the trial of one of six men and boys charged with murdering three college-bound friends in a Newark school yard.
Prosecutors contended Alexander Alfaro wielded a machete during the attack.
Dashon Harvey, Terrance Aeriel and Iofemi Hightower were lined up against a wall behind Newark's Mount Vernon School and shot in the back of the head in August 2007.
A fourth victim who survived being stabbed and shot in the brutal attack testified Wednesday.
On Thursday, jurors are expected to hear from detectives who found a machete used in the attack and others who questioned the survivor.
Two other defendants are already serving life sentences.
