Stabbing Rampage Suspect Indicted By Brooklyn Grand Jury
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The alleged madman accused of going on a stabbing rampage in New York City was indicted Friday by a grand jury.
The man charged in the deadly stabbing spree, 23-year-old Maksim Gelman, was indicted by a Brooklyn grand jury on 13 counts, reports CBS 2's John Slattery.
"Multiple counts of murder in the second degree, attempted murder in the second degree, robbery in the first degree, robbery in the second degree, and assault in the second degree," Assistant District Attorney Ken Taub said.

Gelman, who is charged with killing four people and wounding five others, was not in court. He's being held in the prison section of Bellevue Hospital. Gelman's attorney, Edward Friedman, declined to comment on the proceedings.
A friend of the defendant, who didn't want to be identified, said Gelman was always caring and helpful.
"It's a total 360, a total 360," he said. "Doesn't even sound like the person I know at all."
Investigators said the bloody rampage began when Gelman was not allowed the keys to his mother's Lexus.
If convicted, Gelman faces up to 175 years to life in prison.
