Springsteen Biographer Weighs In On Rocker's Relationship With Gov. Christie
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - With superstorm Sandy devastating the Jersey Shore with which he is synonymous, there has been even more focus than usual on Bruce Springsteen.
One sidebar of the storm is that Springsteen finally granted an audience to his biggest fan, Gov. Chris Christie.

They spoke on the phone from Air Force One, where Springsteen was travelling with President Obama.
Springsteen biographer Peter Ames Carlin has penned the first Bruce bio in 25 years. He explained on WCBS 880 why he thinks the rocker finally spoke with self-professed superfan Gov. Christie.
"The impressive thing about the governor's response to the storm especially at the height of the presidential election was how quickly he began to work with the President and there was no partisan rancor. I think that touched Bruce, the idea that helping people obviously came before everything else," Carlin told WCBS 880's Wayne Cabot.
President Obama made the call between Springsteen and Christie happen just a few days after the president and the governor toured storm-ravaged parts of the Garden State together.
Springsteen, a vocal Obama supporter, had been traveling to a campaign appearance with President Obama when the call to Christie happened.
