Spring-Like Weather Sends New Yorkers Outside Friday; Cold On The Way
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - New Yorkers battered by blizzards, ice storms and record-breaking snows welcomed Friday's unseasonably warm weather with open arms.
Temperatures climbed into the 60s Friday, causing some confusion for people wondering what to wear. At a train station in White Plains, commuters could be seen wearing heavy winter coats and light jackets, sweaters and sweat shirts.
The confusion is understandable. After all, it's still February.

"A day like this in February is incredibly unusual," said Candida Doamaral of the Upper West Side.
Wasn't so long ago it seemed like New Yorkers were looking at heavy snowfall every other week. Not any more.
"It's actually quite insane really, isn't it?" one woman said.
For parents and kids cooped up inside for weeks, the chance to hit the playground was heavenly.
"We're relieved. It's the first time we've been out in I don't know how long. So she's really happy," mother Sophie Rah of the Upper West Side told CBS 2's Scott Rapoport.
Iron worker Lenny Cochran seemed grateful for a winter break. "[It's the] worst winter I can remember, honestly - snow amount and cold," Cochran told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.

1010 WINS reporter John Montone encountered women in Times Square wearing short skirts and no coats.
"It feels great out here," one of them told him.
Of course, this great weather won't last, so seize the day, but don't put your long johns away.
The forecast calls for mixed sun and clouds and it high winds on Saturday. The high will only be around 40. A wind advisory is in effect from 3 am Saturday to midnight EST Saturday night for most of the Tri-State area.
Clouds will be on the increase Sunday with a high near 40. There is a chance of rain or wet snow changing to rain Saturday night.
Rain will taper off on Monday, leaving behind mostly cloudy skies and a high between 40 and 45.
And on Tuesday, there's a chance of snow, and the high will be between 30 and 35.
