Spring-Like Temps Have Long Beach Residents Longing For Their Boardwalk

With such warm weather, they really wish they could use it, but superstorm Sandy had other plans.
For Amy Katz, the view brings renewed respect for the forces of nature.
"Mother Nature, she rules the roost," she told WCBS 880 Long Island Bureau Chief Mike Xirinachs. "This reminds you of just how small you actually are in the universe."
She said she now views the boardwalk as a symbol of recovery and who we are, she says.
Another person, Georgia Anstan, said she hopes the boardwalk is open by summer. But she said that, even if it isn't, she'll be there.
"Boardwalk or not, they're going to be here, absolutely. The people are going to be there. They have a tremendous spirit. That never dies," she said.
