Sports Betting Ring Busted On Staten Island

Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan said 28 people were involved in a gambling ring which ran out of a strip mall. The operation included two wire rooms.
Authorities seized $5.7 million in assets when they broke the ring.
The ring apparently took in $100,000 a week.
Donovan said Josph Stentella, 56, was allegedly behind the operation. Stentella allegedly let people bet on all manner of sports, including mixed martial arts fights.
Stentella is charged with money laundering, promoting gambling and enterprise corruption.
