'Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark' Returns To Broadway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Emerging from a three-week hiatus, Spidey was flying again at the Foxwoods Theatre Thursday night.
"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" returned to Broadway after the $65 million show was significantly rewritten and re-staged.
Producers said the changes are reflected in a cleaner story with re-worked music, more flying and a better love story.
The show had been plagued by months of sold-out failures, a panning by critics, technical glitches and life-threatening mishaps.
Those who spoke with 1010 WINS' Al Jones Thursday night were split in their reviews of the new show.

"You didn't really care about the characters [before] and now they've given careful thought and direction to the characters. The music is there now, the plot is there and you actually care about what's happening," one man said.
"Still no humor and there's still no song -- so hard to think of it as a musical," another man said.
The production remains in previews. Producers insist that it will open as currently scheduled, June 14 at the Foxwoods Theatre.
Tickets for "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" are now on sale through Oct. 2.
