SPCA: Dog Found In Box On Brentwood Road Died Of Blunt Force Trauma
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The Suffolk County SPCA is trying to determine who dumped the body of a dog on a Brentwood road last month.
Chief Roy Gross said a witness saw a man in his early to mid 20s dump a red cardboard box on the corner of Brentwood Road and 18th Avenue on Feb. 29.
Gross said the remains of a white, female Pomeranian dog were found inside the box.
The dog had died of blunt force trauma to the back of the head.
"The animal abuse and neglect will not be tolerated in Suffolk County," Gross said. "We need people to pick up the phone and make that call to stop the abuse and neglect and also, obviously, to bring these people to justice."
Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA at 631-382-7722.
