Sources: Investigators Find Clothes In Marshy Area Near Oak Beach
OAK BEACH, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Investigators looking into the disappearance of a New Jersey prostitute who disappeared last year after visiting a home on Long Island found clothes in a marshy area on Tuesday, sources told CBS 2's Jennifer McLogan.
The discovery comes after dozens of police with cadaver dogs searched the stretch along Ocean Parkway in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Monday. It was the first time in months they were hunting for clues in that area as part of a year-long serial murder mystery.

McLogan, citing sources, reported that a number of tips came in to authorities following a television documentary titled "Long Island Serial Killer" that aired Monday.
Heavy equipment, canines and divers were part of Tuesday's search effort.

At a short news conference Tuesday afternoon, police said they have not found any new remains. They also declined to answer any questions about whether any other items were found.
"I'm not at liberty to discuss whether any significant items were found -- other than saying we did not find any human remains today," Suffolk County Police Inspector Stuart Cameron said.
Cameron also said authorities will "likely" be continuing their search efforts once again on Wednesday.
"There is a chance that when we come back out here tomorrow we may bring some equipment from the Department of Public Works to assist us in searching further in the area," he said.
Ten sets of human remains have been found in the area since last December. Police have said the remains belong to eight women, a man and a toddler. At least five of the victims were prostitutes.
There have been a number of different theories about who is responsible for the killings. Police currently think one person is probably responsible for all 10 deaths.
"Because of the dumping ground, the sex trade business, the dismemberment, we have people in the police department that have other theories, but we are leaning towards that theory," Dormer told WCBS 880′s Sophia Hall last week.
Cadaver dogs found those remains while searching for just one person -- missing Craigslist escort Shannan Gilbert -- who called for help from the beach community on May 1, 2010.
