Something Stinks In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Residents of the Bay Ridge neighborhood in Brooklyn say they sometimes wake up gagging from the stink.
LISTEN: WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs reports
"Really, really pungent. On my bicycle or walking down by the water, it's horrendous," one Brooklyn resident told WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs.
They describe the stench as smelling like raw sewage, and while it appears to be coming from a nearby filtration plant, the city has not been able to pinpoint or contain the odor.
Longtime resident David Andreotti calls it unbearable, saying, "It smells like being in a port-a-potty."
A private environmental firm has been hired to try to stop the stink.
