Snow Leopard Cubs Born At Central Park Zoo Make Their Debut

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Two playful snow leopard cubs are making their debut at the Wildlife Conservation Society's Central Park Zoo.

They're the first snow leopard cubs ever born at the zoo.

They currently weigh in at about 30 pounds each, but are expected to grow to 65-120 pounds.

The male and female cubs are living with their mother Zoe at the Central Park Zoo. Their father, Askai, isn't far away - he's at the Bronx Zoo.

It's the second snow leopard birth at a WCS zoo this year. Just last month, a cub born at the Bronx Zoo was introduced to the public.

Only 3,500-6,500 snow leopards are believed to be alive in the wild.
