Police say 10 businesses were targeted between Saturday night and Sunday morning in New Milford, Garfield, and Clifton.

Most of the businesses were restaurants.

"People here are easy going," Estefana Andratti, a waitress at a Chinese restaurant in New Milford which was hit, told WCBS 880 reporter Sean Adams. "Even customers were upset."

"My machine is broken, they probably took $80 to $100 in cash," the owner of a Clifton pizzeria told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg.

"Clearly they were just looking for the money because they damaged the desk and all the mess they did and they took a few dollars," the owner of a beauty salon said.

New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro tells The Record newspaper it's unusual to have that many retail burglaries at one time.

The chief says no alarms sounded so police are trying to determine whether the intruders disabled the alarms before entering.

On Friday it was announced that two men were in arrested in Teaneck in connection to a string of home burglaries in 14 North Jersey towns.
