Sleepy Hollow Boasts Of Being $25,000 Under Winter Snow Budget
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- This winter's brutal weather has forced some towns, cities and villages in the Tri-State area to go over their snow budget already, however the Village of Sleepy Hollow is proud that it's not one of them.
While the village is running low on road salts and is a couple of snow storms away from going over budget, right now, Sleepy Hollow is $25,000 under its $132,000 snow budget.

Village Administrator Anthony Giaccio told WCBS 880's Catherine Cioffi "hopefully it'll stay as its been for the last week."

"There's a sense of pride also because we're actually known for having excellent streets during the snow storms," he said.
Giaccio credits the achievement to good budgeting and having a good idea of how much snow could hit the area on any given winter. He admitted the village was "teetering on potentially going over" budget depending on how the rest of the season plays out.
Even with some boasting going on in Sleepy Hollow, Giaccio is careful not to get too proud.
"So we've had a very tough winter again. Our staff has done an excellent job to carry us through and if it can stay like this until the spring time, we'll be very happy," he said.
