Sledders Of All Ages Take To The Hills In Suffolk County
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Equipped with sleds, children in Suffolk County were enjoying another snow day on Wednesday.
Melissa Fiore was one of dozens of parents who took their kids sledding.
"You had to make the most of the snow day, absolutely" she told CBS2's Ilana Gold. "Got to get out and play. It's beautiful -- cold but beautiful."
The big hill at Hauppauge High School was drawing a crowd of sledders, WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported.
"It's really nice," one boy said. "We have a lot of good hills to go down."
It was important for kids of all ages to go fast.
"You get to zoom down on the sled, and it's really fun," one young sledder said.
Haskell even gave it a whirl himself, recording audio on his way down.
"Oh yeah, it's fast -- and bumpy," he's heard saying. "Holy cow -- oh, I got a branch in the face!"
