Six Yankees Could Start All-Star Game

New York (WFAN/MLB) - The American League All-Star team is dominated by Yankees players at the first checkpoint of balloting, with six players in line for starting nods.

Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and Russell Martin are all ahead at their respective positions, while Curtis Granderson is also claiming one of the top three outfield spots.

Cano is the second-leading vote-getter at this point, having received 1,185,952 votes. Only Jose Bautista of the Blue Jays has received more (1,261,659), and Cano is well ahead of the Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia (586,361) at second base.
