Shuttle Enterprise Prepares For Final Leg Of Journey To Intrepid Museum
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The Space Shuttle Enterprise has continued its journey to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.
It began on Friday when the shuttle was prepared for placement atop a barge near Kennedy Airport. On Saturday the Enterprise was lifted onto the barge, a process which takes three hours to complete.
On Sunday morning the shuttle will depart and begin its trip towards Port Elizabeth, before making its final movement to the Intrepid.

Susan Maranoff Zausner, President of the Intrepid Museum, told WCBS 880's Alex Silverman that on-lookers can enjoy the shuttles movement from a number of locations.
"The Verrazano's going to be quite a beautiful sight. And the Gil hodges is really dependent on tide and some of the weather conditions. So it will be a very exciting journey."

Those interested in watching can see the shuttle on Sunday at 5:00PM as it passes the Verrazano Bridge. The shuttle will also pass the Statue Of Liberty and the World Trade Center on Tuesday.
