Shots Fired By Police After Officer Is Struck Near FDR Drive
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two people were arrested early Sunday after a police officer was struck by a vehicle near the FDR Drive.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at under the FDR Drive overpass at East 23rd Street, police said.
Investigators said officers were called to help control a large crowd gathered near the overpass.
Police said earlier that the officer was pushed, but later said he was struck by a suspect's vehicle.
The NYPD said one officer fired his gun. No one was struck.
The officer who was struck was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue with minor injuries, police said.
