Shots Fired At Officers Outside Building In Bedford-Stuyvesant
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An investigation continued this weekend after someone fired shots at officers conducting a search in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.
The incident happened around 11:55 p.m. Friday at Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Pulaski Street in Brooklyn, police said. Officers from the Brooklyn Gang North Unit heard shots being fired and saw a group of men running into a building at 319 Pulaski St.
Gang Unit officers requested backup before entering the building. The Gang Unit officers ran up to the roof, while 81st Precinct Anti-Crime team officers canvassed the area.
In the back of the building, a suspect fired shots at a plainclothes sergeant and officer who were going around with flashlights to look for a gun they believed had been tossed off the roof. The officer and sergeant were not injured.
Six spent shell casings were found at the side of a nearby building at 93 Lewis Ave., and three parked cars sustained damage from gunshots, police said.
There had been no arrests as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation continued.
