Several Injured, Dozens Displaced In East Village Fire
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Dozens of residents have been displaced after a late night fire in the East Village.
Officials say the blaze broke out around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at 21 East 2nd Street near a New York University dorm. It took almost 140 firefighters nearly two hours to get the fire under control.
The Red Cross is assisting 30 adults and four children who were displaced by the fire.
Three civilians and 11 firefighters suffered minor injuries.
