Seven Bikers On LIE Arrested Following Numerous Reckless Driving 911 Calls
MEDFORD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Seven bikers were arrested Monday after Suffolk County police received reports about reckless driving on the Long Island Expressway.
The incident took place around noon in the eastbound lane of the LIE near exit 63 in Medford. Suffolk County police told CBS 2's Carolyn Gusoff the bikers were seen for miles driving recklessly, which frightened motorists.
"What he observed was a group of motorcyclists were weaving in and out of traffic, changing lanes rapidly without signaling, coming up dangerously close behind tailgating other vehicles," Suffolk County Police Sgt. George Hodge told WCBS 880's Marla Diamond.

The incident comes just weeks after an SUV driver was beaten in Manhattan after an altercation with bikers on the West Side Highway.
After receiving 911 calls from two motorists, a responding officer followed the group for 10 exits and witnesses the reckless driving, police said. They were pulled over after a second patrol car arrived, police said.
"His initial concern was that if he turned his lights and sirens on that they would run and present an even greater hazard," Hodge told Gusoff.
Those arrested range in age from 20 to 33, and all are from Long Island, Queens or Brooklyn. The seven men were charged with reckless driving and other vehicle and traffic law violations. More charges could follow, Gusoff reported.
A large flatbed truck was brought to the scene to impound the motorcycles. Officers also collected the bikers' helmets, one of which had a camera that may have been rolling -- also reminiscent of the Manhattan case.
Police applauded the motorists for calling 911 immediately, saying the reports may have prevented injuries.
The seven bikers who were arrested are Edward Gianino, 25, of Farmingdale; Emilio Morales, 28, of Brooklyn; Ian Glass, 20, of Farmingdale; Nicholas Belletti, 28, of Great Neck; Oskar Bucki, 20, of Glendale; David Golaszewski, 20, of Glendale; and Victor Dasilva, 33, of Farmingdale.
