Seton Hall Cracks AP Top 25 For First Time Since 2001
NEW YORK (WFAN/AP) -- Seton Hall men's basketball is finally back in the national spotlight.
The Pirates, winners of 11 out of 12, cracked The Associated Press' college basketball poll Monday for the first time since January 2001.
No. 24 Seton Hall made their strongest case yet in last week's stunning 75-63 upset of UConn.
"I'm sure we'll get some national attention, because this was a great win against a great program," coach Kevin Willard said after the game.
Meanwhile, Syracuse, one of three unbeaten teams in Division I, is on top for the fifth straight week.
The Orange received 60 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Kentucky, which got the other No. 1 votes, North Carolina and Baylor remained second through fourth.
Ohio State moved up one spot to fifth and was followed by Michigan State, Indiana, Duke, Missouri and Kansas in the Top 10.
Baylor and No. 15 Murray State are the other unbeatens.
Creighton, which was out of the poll for one week, moved back in at No. 23.
Wisconsin, ranked as high as No. 9, fell out from 18th after its third straight loss. Harvard, which was ranked three of the last five weeks, fell out from 22nd.
