Serial Bandit Suspected Of 7 Chain Snatching Robberies In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police in the Bronx are trying to identify an alleged serial robber who has been snatching chains right off men's necks.

The suspect has struck a total of seven times since mid-July in Kingsbridge, Foxhurst, Norwood, West Farms and Belmont, according to police.

The suspect's M.O. is the same in the robberies: He approaches his victims from behind and snatches the chains from their necks. In most of the incidents, he then runs into a waiting vehicle which drives off.

The most recent incident was last Wednesday, when he allegedly also punched his victim and threw him to the ground, police said.
