Gus Bougas was sentenced Tuesday. The 41-year-old pleaded guilty last month to charges including burglary.

The Manhattan district attorney's office says Bougas broke into the stores overnight by cutting through their security gates and forcing open their front doors.

He was arrested in May outside an Upper East Side card store. Prosecutors say police found more than $11,000 worth of the store's cash and merchandise in his backpack.

Prosecutors say he then admitted to three burglaries at various eateries, and detectives linked him to two other retail break-ins.

Prosecutors say Bougas has previous burglary convictions.
