NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A second suspect was in custody in Maryland Thursday in connection with a heist last month in the Diamond District in Midtown.

Leon Fenner, 58, was arrested in Suitland, Maryland, officials told 1010 WINS. He was to appear before a federal judge in Maryland on Thrusday.

The gunpoint robbery at happened Tuesday around 2:30 p.m..

The robbers held up the Watch Standard jewelry store located on the eighth floor of 23 W. 47th St. Police said a man posing as a courier was buzzed into the store while a second man stood outside as a lookout.

But once inside, investigators said he pulled a gun on four employees and demanded they empty the safe. That's when the owner walked in and detectives said the suspect pistol-whipped him with the butt of the gun.

Following the robbery, some area employees were ordered to stay inside, while others were evacuated.

With millions in jewels on display, there are countless cameras in the area, including one operated by police just outside the building.

Fenner was identified by police as the man who appeared in surveillance video and photos with a hat and trench coat, and was believed to have been the lookout.

Sources told CBS2 News Frisby was an employee of the store, and was inside when the robbery occurred. He was arrested earlier Monday at a relative's apartment, sources said.
