Second Avenue Subway 'Muck Houses' To Be Torn Down
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The "muck houses" of the Second Avenue subway line are finally set to come down.
The buildings, which are considered an eyesore by some, sit at East 72nd and 69th streets. They house debris and crushed rock from the subway project.
The buildings have been the center of controversy between the Metropolitan Transit Authority and residents in the area.
Demolition of the muck house on 72nd Street will commence next month, CBS 2 reported.
