Secaucus Walmart Evacuated Following Bomb Threat
SECAUCUS, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a northern New Jersey Walmart store, but no explosive devices were found at the business.
The Hudson County Sheriff's office says roughly 700 customers and employees were evacuated from the store in Secaucus after the threat was received around 2 p.m. Monday.
It's located in the Harmon Meadow Cove shopping plaza, which is about 15 minutes from Manhattan and near Metlife Stadium where the New York Giants and Jets play their NFL home games.
Authorities believe the New Jersey call is related to at least a dozen similar threats that have been received at Walmarts in Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri in recent days. No explosives were found in those incidents.
