Search On For Suspect After Bronx Livery Cab Robbery
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Sunday evening were searching for a suspect who robbed a livery cab driver just off the Cross Bronx Expressway in the Bronx.
The robbery happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday at the corner of 176th Street and Crotona Avenue, police said.
The suspect got into the livery cab, flashed a handgun and demanded money, police said. The driver handed over an unspecified amount of money and a cell phone, and the suspect fled north on nearby Belmont Avenue, police said.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic in his 20s, standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, police said.
Police have released a surveillance photo of the suspect.
