"How wonderful it was to win, because I tell people as difficult as it is to make it to the Super Bowl, it's even harder to win the game," he said Wednesday.
Landeta was commemorating the 25th anniversary of the first New York Giants Super Bowl victory at an event in Nassau County. In that game, the Giants beat the Denver Broncos at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
His only advice to the G-Men as they prepare for this year's super game: "Win the Super Bowl."
"Enjoy it because when they look back on it, they're gonna realize how quick it went. Obviously, it's so exciting everything since you've been a kid has now come to pass," he added.
Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano says the Giants are bringing a much-needed boost to the area economy.
"Each person will spend an average of nearly $60 on the Super Bowl and that's all sales tax money to help run our great county," said Mangano.
The Giants will take on the the New England Patriots in Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
