Scaffold Collapses Over Out-Of-Control Car In Bay Ridge, Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A car spun out of control and took down a light pole before becoming buried under a falling sidewalk scaffold in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Monday afternoon.
As CBS 2's Joe Biermann reported, sometime before 5:30 p.m., the car went out of control at 79th Street and 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.
The scaffold collapsed over the car after the driver took out the light pole. The driver was trapped in the wreckage for some time, but fire crews succeeded in extricating the motorist.
The driver only suffered minor injuries, Biermann reported.
Fire equipment was expected to cause traffic problems at the scene for some time.
