S.I. Stabbing Suspect May Be Schizophrenic
NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- A Staten Island man suspected of stabbing and killing his parents is expected back in New York City this weekend.
Eric Bellucci was dragged out of Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport Friday morning.
Investigators say Bellucci was trying to by a one-way ticket to Turkey and from there to Beijing when a flight attendant thought he looked suspicious and called police.
It's believed Bellucci suffers from schizophrenia.
Neighbors on Staten Island say they're glad he's been caught, but in hindsight, someone should have seen this coming.
"I really didn't know him that well, but I'm sure he was capable of doing something like that, given the illness he had."
Police say Bellucci stabbed his parents to death in their home earlier this week. Their bodies were discovered on Thursday.
