Rye Playland Open For 83rd Season
RYE,NY(1010 WINS) – Rye Playland opened for business Saturday morning for its 83rd season.
As the band played Saturday morning, Westchester County executive Rob Astorino cut the ribbon and adults and children of all ages walked through the gates.

But the amusement park has been hurting financially for years. To combat some of its money woes, the amusement park hiked ticket prices for this season and there are a number of redevelopment proposals in the works for the property.
While the park's future is uncertain, parents say they hope any redevelopments help preserve what Playland has been for decades.
In the past decade, Rye Playland has lost between $3 and $5 million a year.
