Rutgers Guard Eli Carter Out For Season With Broken Leg
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Rutgers sophomore guard Eli Carter broke his right leg Saturday against DePaul and will miss the rest of the season.
The Big East Conference school disclosed the injury late Saturday night, more than seven hours after the Scarlet Knights dropped a 75-69 decision in Rosemont, Ill. The school said he would be evaluated by orthopedic doctors this week.
Carter left the game with 15:36 remaining and had four points when he was hurt.
The Paterson resident played in all 24 games (18 starts) this season and was averaging 14.9 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 38.4 percent from the field and 86.4 percent from the free throw line.
The Scarlet Knights will play at Villanova on Monday.
