Roughly 3,000 Participants Cross George Washington Bridge To Raise Money For Cancer
FORT LEE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Whether on foot or by bike on Sunday morning, those of all ages showed their support for the American Cancer Society with every stride on the George Washington Bridge.
Samantha Priore of Belleville is just five years old, but the pint-sized cyclist -- who sat on top of her hot-pink bike with white wheels and a helmet to match -- planned to ride the four miles across the bridge and raise money for cancer.

"Because it's fun," the youngster told WCBS 880's Monica Miller when asked why she decided to ride.
Mike, her dad, said he went to run beside her just in case.
"She wanted to do this without her training wheels, and she just learned how not to ride with training wheels two weeks ago," the elder Priore said prior to the event. "So this is a big step for her."
The father and daughter joined roughly 3,000 participants who enjoyed the open road.
"I've been doing it for about two years now, and she's seen me going out every Sunday morning," the father explained. "So now she wants to get involved."
Sunday's event marked the 25th anniversary of the American Cancer Society George Washington Bridge Challenge.
