NYPD Investigating Vandalism At Staten Island Church
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A historic Black church on Staten Island was vandalized earlier this week.
Chopper 2 was over Rossville AME Zion Church in the Sandy Ground section of the borough on Wednesday morning.
Smashed glass could be seen on the building's front door. Basement windows were also smashed, but nothing appeared to be taken.
Police said officers responded to a 911 call of criminal mischief at the location on Monday night.
The church has been in the community since the early 1800s.
