Roosevelt High School Security Guard Accused Of Uploading Video Of Boy In Restroom
ROOSEVELT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A security guard at Roosevelt High School on Long Island stood charged Wednesday with videotaping a 16-year-old boy in a school restroom and posting it to Snapchat.
Daniel Williams, 24, of North Babylon, was on the job as a security guard at the high school at 1 Wagner Ave. in Roosevelt on Tuesday, when he entered the boys' bathroom and began videotaping the boy using the restroom, according to Nassau County police.
"It is early in the investigation, but first squad detectives are looking into every lead and every avenue of why this occurred," Detective Richard LeBrun, Nassau County Police said.
The suspect then posted the Snapchat images messaging app, police said.
"At this point, no other parents have called us, but again we are looking into all leads and all avenues where this investigation could take us," LeBrun said.
Williams was arrested at the school without incident on Wednesday, police said.
Williams was charged with unlawful surveillance and endangering the welfare of a child, police said. He was released on a desk appearance ticket and will appear in court on April 11.
