Romney's Pick Stirs Things Up In Connecticut's 4th Congressional District
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - Mitt Romney's pick of Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate has stirred reaction in the race for Connecticut's 4th Congressional District.

Given Connecticut's history with middle of the road Republicans, incumbent Rep. Jim Himes (D) said the Ryan pick has to be, for GOP candidates there, an uncomfortable moment.
"Paul Ryan, and I know Paul Ryan and he's a decent guy, has for a long time, articulated one of the most stark, right-wing visions for this country, I think, that anybody has articulated," Himes told WCBS 880 reporter Paul Murnane.
Himes' Republican challenger, Steve Obsitnik, said he sees political rhetoric masking Democratic failure on the economy.
"Really anything that will divert focus off of the record and results we've seen over really four years, which has really been an economic nightmare and a job nightmare," he told Murnane.
"But at least he's taking risks and putting himself out there trying to bring creative solutions to big problems," Obistink told Murnane of Ryan.
With Medicare, Obsitnik said promises can be responsibly kept.
Himes said many of Ryan's proposals hammer the middle class.
