Stores are empty. The food court is bare.
But this mall is now on the verge of becoming the latest fashion.
Clarkstown supervisor Alex Gromack says Simon Properties has been in and out of the building department and they're now planning on demolishing the mall to make way for a new one.
"It's a win-win for everybody," says Gromack, who says of the mall right now, "It's at its lowest point in its history. You could walk around the mall and be the only one in there."
He says this is just what Clarkstown needs.
"We're very excited. It's something that's going to be very vibrant, and great for business, the tax base," says Gromack.
Meanwhile, a Simon Properties spokesperson says they don't want to comment until everything is firm.
But they say they have been looking to redevelop the property for a long time.
